CBHI System of Care: Core Values and Guiding Principles
Training Description:
Current best practices for serving children and youth with significant mental health needs are based on “System of Care (SOC) Principles and Values.” These were developed through decades of advocacy by families and youth, community-based practitioners, researchers, and policymakers at the local, state and national levels. First, this course will provide the history and social context of the development of SOC Principles and Values and the resulting evidence-based model for care coordination, High Fidelity Wraparound (HFW). Second, the, students will hear from current senior clinicians working in the context of Massachusetts’ Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI) services as they reflect on using these principles and values to partner with youth and families to meet their needs and achieve their hopes.
