MOUD Induction Protocols for Adults and Special Considerations for Youth

Training Description:

This 2 hour training explains why starting medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD), specifically buprenorphine, has become more difficult for people using today’s high potency illicit fentanyl. Illicitly Manufactured Fentanyl (IMF) and similar substances are unpredictable and extremely strong, which can make traditional buprenorphine initiation very challenging and more importantly less effective.

The course compares standard buprenorphine initiation methods with newer, alternative strategies designed for the fentanyl era. It highlights why these updated approaches are gaining attention and how they can help clinicians stabilize patients more quickly and reduce overdose risk.
