Child Requiring Assistance (CRA): Overview & Advocacy

Training Description:

During this 2-hour training on Child Requiring Assistance (CRA), community behavioral health professional staff and clinicians will explore the ins and outs of Massachusetts’ status offense cases, known as CRAs. Participants will see the differences between the five types of CRAs as well as who can file which type and have an opportunity to reflect on the trends in filings based on demographic data across the state. Myths and facts for CRAs and a walk through the CRA process and the rights for parties and opportunities for advocacy will also be presented. Hypotheticals to analyze when to file a CRA and how to navigate the juvenile court process when a CRA is filed will be offered.
