Eviction Prevention

Training Description:

This 1.5-hour training will discuss strategies for preventing eviction before it happens. Eviction is a catastrophic life event that can negatively affect a person’s emotional, physical, and financial well-being for months or years to come. Eviction is a common precursor to homelessness, and complicates a person’s ability to secure future rental housing. It will explore upstream eviction prevention strategies like high quality housing supports, landlord partnership, and mitigating identified housing risks. Additionally, it will cover legal resources for preserving tenancies after an eviction has been filed, including tenant rights, legal aid and representation, and court navigation services.
