General Systems Theory: An Overview of Systems Thinking and Concepts
Training Description:
This 1.75-hour course provides an in-depth introduction to General Systems Theory as a foundational framework for understanding human behavior in context. Designed as a crucial precursor to the Structural Family Therapy course, it equips participants with a solid grasp of systems thinking and its relevance in clinical practice. Participants will explore key concepts such as open versus closed systems, feedback loops, homeostasis, and the distinctions between process and content. The course also delves into principles like equipotentiality and equifinality.
Emphasis will be placed on the practical application of these concepts in working with individuals, couples, and families from a systemic lens.
