Training Description:
This 0.5-hr training will review the top 5 tips for optimizing engagement with young people who have problems with substance use. The course will review: 1. The importance of using language that is relevant to the lived experience of youth; 2. How to structure a visit to prioritize the youth’s perspective while also involving caregivers; 3. How to take a youth responsive substance use history; 4. Considerations when collaborating with other individuals or agencies involved in a youth’s life; and 5. The importance of being comfortable with youth ambivalence about engagement in care and treatment.
This short training does not meet the requirements for CE Credits.
